Late Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first president of India laid the foundation stone of this university. The university has 127 colleges, offering a number of departments for various streams. The Kurukhshetra University is located in the historical place of India known as Kurukshetra and has spread its campus over 400 acres of land on the western bank of Brahm Sarovar. The University provides air-conditioned Auditorium with a capacity of over 2500, libraries with an area of 49,230 Sq. ft. with 370 seats at different floors. The central library has a collection of 5014 books, 450 journals and 2, 81,002 documents.
